Payment methods

Abotsi Market partners with Stripe to manage payments. The platform collects buyers’ payments and remits funds to sellers according to the rules described here: Commission, VAT & processing fees.
 
We group sellers into two broad geographic categories:
  • Sellers residing in Europe/West (European Union, Switzerland, United Kingdom, etc.): standard method = Stripe Connect. Bank transfer is offered by exception only, subject to support approval.
  • Sellers residing in Africa: methods used are MoneyGram / Western Union (no bank transfer).
 
Note: availability may vary based on your country of residence, currency, and local regulations. If an expected option doesn’t appear, contact support: contact@abotsimarket.com.
 
Enter your payout method on Abotsi Market. Do this by writing your information in the Payment Details field. This page explains everything: Stripe Connect (Europe/West) and MoneyGram/Western Union (Africa). Bank transfer is not offered in Africa and, in Europe/West, only by exception.

 

Before you start
 
All sellers must set their payout method in their seller area: Settings > Payment Information > Payment Details. Open your dashboard here: seller account.
 
  • The Payment Details field is a free-text field: state the method you use (e.g., “Stripe Connect – identity verified”) and the required data (see sections below).
  • Never enter any password or card data in Payment Details.
  • Use real and up-to-date information (legal name, IBAN if applicable, contact details).

 

Available payment methods
 
Choose the method matching your region:
  • Stripe Connectstandard method for sellers in Europe/West.
  • MoneyGram / Western Union — methods used for sellers in Africa.
  • Bank transfer (Europe/West — by exception): only if Stripe connection is impossible for justified reasons and approved by support.

 

Stripe Connect (sellers in Europe/West)
 
Goal
Enable automatic payouts to your account via Stripe Connect (after identity verification).
 
How to connect
  1. In your seller dashboard, open Settings > Payment Settings > Connect To Stripe.
  2. Click the Connect with Stripe button.
  3. Complete the onboarding: e-mail, legal information (individual/business), identity verification (KYC) and bank details (IBAN).
  4. Submit. You’ll be redirected back to Abotsi Market; the status becomes connected.
  5. In Settings > Payment Information > Payment Details, write: “Stripe Connect – identity verified”, then save.
Troubleshooting: if the button doesn’t open, allow pop-ups or try another browser. If a field is rejected, double-check your IBAN and ID documents, then restart Stripe onboarding.

 

Bank transfer (Europe/West — by exception only)
 
When to use it?
If Stripe connection is impossible (legal/technical constraint) and after support approval. Submit your request to: contact@abotsimarket.com.
 
What to write in “Payment Details”
  • Full IBAN (and BIC/SWIFT if available)
  • Account holder name (exactly as on the account)
  • Account holder postal address
  • Bank name

 

MoneyGram / Western Union (sellers in Africa)
 
What to write in “Payment Details”
  • Full name (as on your ID)
  • Country / City
  • Phone number

  • Stripe Connect: “Stripe Connect – identity verified”

Update or change your method
 
  • You can change methods at any time: update Payment Details and save.
  • Ensure the information is accurate to avoid payout delays.

 

Frequently asked questions
 
When should I complete identity verification?
During Stripe Connect onboarding (sellers in Europe/West). Follow the wizard to the end to activate payouts.
 
Are there payout fees?
Fees can vary by method and country. They are shown during transfers and/or in your seller dashboard.
 
In which currency will I be paid?
The currency depends on your method and receiving country. Check your bank statement or Stripe interface where applicable.
 
What if my payout details change?
Update Settings > Payment Information > Payment Details immediately, then save.
 
Best practices & security
For secure payouts:
  • Never share card codes or passwords.
  • Use an active e-mail and watch for payment notifications.
  • Avoid incomplete info (e.g., truncated IBAN, wrong phone number).
